I haven't posted in a while. Sorry.
Tons have happened. I broke up with the stoopid dork I was dating. I missed the deadline to applying for a "promotion". Despite this, I completely splurged, and now have a relatively new wardrobe. My cousin's cool cool wedding happened.
But I don't feel like going into detail about that. I feel like talking about this conditioner I got. This conditioner that advertises itself as instant. This conditioner, which despite the allure of being --instant--, isn't what I wanted because what I wanted was leave-in. Of course, I didn't realize this at the drug-store, being in a hurry and all.
Despite all that, this conditioner is pretty cool. It comes in a pretty bottle, and the stuff itself is a pretty peach pearlescent. It also smells like this peach tea that I like.
Life is okay after all.

I had this great idea before I fell asleep. Amazingly I still remember it now. The idea: keep an audio journal.
Then I can transfer over everything to text and maybe post it somewhere -- I wonder how long before it takes me to get behind on that...
I even found my handheld tape recorder. It wasn't an easy feat considering I haven't the clue where most things are since the move.

I'll assume you listen to the radio, or at one time has listened to the radio. I'll also assume you've heard of contests where listeners tune in, call in, and win.
You remember the part where they ask who's the best radio station in town? Well, has anyone ever said the wrong station? 107.3 uhhh I mean 92.5
Is there a pre-warning to such thing, because I don't presume that everyone out there is so smart and unforgetful that that never happens. Or maybe the Dj's simply never play these instances. Or maybe even the win is revoked if such an instance occurs. Maybe i should call in one time and find out...

I had one of those weird dreams where I dreamt that I was awake and doing things. Have you ever had one of those dreams? I dreamt I woke up and went to work, and it was warm outside. Then I dreamt I went to the store and bought some movies.
Well guess what? That's what I have to do today, except for the movie part.
Once I remember thinking I needed to take a shower in the morning, but I hit the snooze button instead. Between the alarms i had dreamt I took the shower, washed my hair and everything. When I woke up I became very confused because I'd thought I'd taken the shower already.

All those things I said I needed to get done. I didn't do a single one. :/

There is one thing that comes to mind when I think about growing up. Namely, addiction to coffee.
Every adult I know drinks coffee, or occasionally there is the abberation of a human who drinks tea, and they can't seem to function without it. Coffee is the epitome of adultdom. It represents responsibilities, and having to meet them. I think much more so than: owning a car; owning a house; having a job; having kids etc..
I on the other hand only drink coffee for fun. I indulge in the flavored coffees. I'll drink a cup and not be able to sleep that night. I buy coffee mugs because they look pretty. I don't own a coffee pot. I only own instant coffees. The starbucks down the street has only seen my money once.
I forget where I was going with this. For you see, coffee makes me spacey and forgetful. It seems to numb the part of the brain which functions to link ideas together. It also seems to temporarily affect my memory, and makes me sleepy.
...Despite this I just had a cup
It seems I am an anomaly outside the realm of even tea drinkers.

Currently, I've been driving with my eyes focused on the pavement. Admittedly, this is not altogether safe. However, there are so many damn potholes everywhere. I'm not just talking about the normal dips into the road, although there are a plethora of those too. Due to the snow there are a great deal of mega potholes. Literally a hole in the ground so wide and deep drivers could easily bust a tire, or even get stuck. And they're everywhere!!
Road repair patched up the one I almost busted on. They also fixed up nicely the one at my job, though they failed to fix the medium ones just right outside the street.

This is rather inane
but I hate those damn 3/4 shirts. I should just stop buying them, and throw out all the ones I own. That way I'd know if something I owned shrunk in the wash, or came pre-annoying.
Either that, or I need a better memory.
Right now, I just feel like Alice in Wonderland who grew a lot, and became all disproportionate.

I'm "reading" this odd cookbook. Most of the recipes require a lot of work, so I don't think I'm going to try them. Some others require weird ingredients that I don't want to eat. For instance, a lot of recipes call for raw nuts. Also, according to the reviews, most of the recipes don't taste good anyways. I wouldn't recommend this cookbook to anyone. It's pretty, and pretty useless.

the dream
Okay, so I generally don't post dreams here, but this one was so pretty.
I dreamt I was outside shoveling snow sometime around midnight. All of the sudden I look up, and it's the beautiful aurora borealis. I'm like, "Wow, I thought we were too far south for the northern lights. Gee, guess not. Cool!" Except it didn't look like the northern lights in pictures. I was purple, and and fishnet-like. It looked similar to this computer-generated drawing of cereberal netting. It was so pretty, and I just stood and stared. Then it went away, and the sky became normal again
I stayed outside and kept vigil, hoping to see the lights again. But then some clouds rolled in, and a second layer of lower clouds rolled in. I could see parts of the aurora through the gaps in the clouds, but it wasn't as inspiring as the whole picture. A little while later, the entire sky was cloudy and it started to snow.
It was so pretty, and now I'm in a really good mood.
Someday, I want to go to Alaska and see the northern lights in person. Although, they'll never be my purple lights. You know, I think I'm going to make a dream-aurora screen saver. Maybe I'll release it when I finish.

WILD nights! Wild nights!
Were I with thee,
Wild nights should be
Our luxury!
Futile the winds
To a heart in port,—
Done with the compass,
Done with the chart.
Rowing in Eden!
Ah! the sea!
Might I but moor
To-night in thee!
~Emily Dickinson
4. What is one thing you've always wanted to read, or wish you had more time to read?
Catch 22, Invisible Cities, The Jumping Frog

Java vs. C++
So after more than a semester coding Java and html, I've returned to C++. How different it is! Commands such as del and dir don't exist, instead I must remember to use rm and ls. Now I can't end a command with </a> it must end with a ;.
I'm so glad to be back!!!
Of course, it is highly inconvenient that I've forgotten how to copy and paste lines or blocks of code. The ctrl-c and ctrl-v commands don't work so well in unix.
I also seem to have forgotten how to toggle word-wrap on and off. I've been away for far too long.

2.25.03
Today has been a relative ass-kicker. Hard commute, test in politics, general stress. I bought my first bottle of alcohol today. It wasn't planned. So I'm drunk now. I inadvertantly drank half the liter. The reason I'm drunk is because I'm a relative lite-weight when it comes to alchohol. The sad thing is I got drunk...alone. I don't think I'm going to be an alcoholic. Getting drunk alone is depressing. Oh yeah, the reason I got drunk after only 2 cups of wine is because I hardly ever drink. The last time I drank was over the New Year. ...and now I feel sick.
ooops : /

rant rant rant
After last week's piles of snow, drivers seem to think this week that they can drive however they please. I saw one furniture truck run another car completely off the road. Luckily there was a slight shoulder for the car to go. The driver was too suprised to even honk. That damned truck just drove off. I'll be suprised if the damn driver knew what kind of accident he narrowly missed.
Soon after this I hit the largest pot-hole I have ever seen. It is truly the mother of all pot-holes. Maybe 6 inches across, and a foot deep. Let me reiterate again that I don't have particularly quick reactions and drove over, or should I say into the hole. Lucky my tire didn't burst. I'll consider it lucky too if I don't get a flat tire later tonight or sometime this week.
People in general seem to tired of driving nicely. Every one seems to be driving erratically, and cutting everyone else off. Let this be a warning. If you cut me off, and I hit you. Not only will you have to pay for the damage to my car. I will have to pay for your hospital bills, because once I get out of the car. I will kick you to pulp! So, just save both of us the trouble, and don't drive so recklessly.
Wow, I didn't for this to be such a rant...not conciously anyways.

Friday Five...a bit late
1. What is your most prized material possession?
My violin, of course.
2. What item, that you currently own, have you had the longest?
Kringle, my christmas teddy bear. I've had him since I was four or five. My mom's boss gave him to me.
3. Are you a packrat?
Yes, although an inconsistent one I might add.
4. Do you prefer a spic-and-span clean house? Or is some clutter necessary to avoid the appearance of a museum?
I prefer the museum look, yet i find clutter absolutely necessary.
5. Do the rooms in your house have a theme? Or is it a mixture of knick-knacks here and there?
Nooooooo!!!!!! Themes are the devil-incarnate!

...::blah blah blah blah::...
I've finally finished redesigning the page. This doesn't really qualify in my book as a design. It's entirely lacking in any graphics. However, I'm entirely depressed that my last host (free) decided to delete all my files without first giving warning. Albeit, this has been a good lesson. First, never trust free hosts with your life...or anything else. Secondly, always back anything up you don't have the time/energy/desire to reproduce.
This semester's been relatively brutal, and I haven't yet set up another host, this time paid. I was actually considering moving to another site altogether. I just haven't had the energy.
Sometime this week I will post type up and post January and February's entries. What little I wrote. My computer is still on the blitz, and it's hard finding time to go to the computer lab.
Never fear, my loyal following of 4 readers. :D I am back.

[originally posted sometime early February]
11:35 a.m.
Whoa! I haven't posted in a long time.
First I was just too busy, then my computer kinda broke, but I didn't have time to reformat. So I started using the school's puter, but apparently I'm an idiot. I didn't write down any of the passwords to sites I visit a lot, but after the month hiatus I forgot all of them. For this site I had to figure out which email I used, which took forever. But now I'm back. =o
And everything still really looks ugly, but I'm gonna redesign n stuff.
